Digitisation at Kafard Films is carried out using the ScanStation developed by the American company Lasergraphics. This is an extremely flexible model designed to adapt to a wide variety of film formats.
It is equipped with a CFA with a native resolution of 6.5K and a HDR option for better rendering of the film’s dynamics.
In addition, the ScanStation uses a stabilisation system called Optical Pin Registration which, unlike traditional claw systems, optically records the position of the film perforations without direct physical contact. This allows a non-intrusive film transport, particularly suitable for fragile or damaged film. This system also ensures excellent image stability, even in the presence of damaged perforations.
Currently supported formats :
- 16mm standard
 - Super 16mm
 - 35mm (2, 3 or 4 perforations)
 - and soon : Super 8
